What the certification covers
Lean, which grew out of the Toyota Production System, is the application of Lean practices, principles and tools to reduce waste and improve process efficiency. At this level PeopleCert certifies that you can implement, interpret and apply the Lean methodology in your field, area or operation at an advanced level.
Lean strategy deployment
Align Lean initiatives with business goals for measurable, long-term results.
Leading improvement teams
Use hypothesis testing, regression and experimental design to find and quantify key process factors.
Advanced process analysis
Value stream mapping, bottleneck analysis, SMED and flow principles for complex, end-to-end processes.

Define KPIs, track progress and put controls in place to sustain improvements.
Lean systems design
Pull systems, just-in-time, Kanban and workload levelling.

The certification exam
PeopleCert IASSC Certified Lean Leader exam
Computer-based, web proctored or in a classroom, with a physical or online proctor. 90 multiple-choice questions, one mark each, in 2 hours (an extra 60 minutes for non-native speakers or candidates with a disability). Pass mark 70% (63 of 90). Closed book: only the Reference Document may be used. Valid for 3 years; a recertification exam keeps it valid.
