What is PeopleCert IASSC?
PeopleCert acquired the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) and its Lean Six Sigma certifications. The exams are now offered as PeopleCert Lean Six Sigma, IASSC Certified Yellow Belt (ICYB), Green Belt (ICGB) and Black Belt (ICBB).
Each exam tests the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge for that belt. It is closed book, and you need a minimum score of 70% to pass.
MBizM Sdn. Bhd., which runs Six Sigma Malaysia, is a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organization (ATO, PeopleCert registry ID 2198), accredited to offer the PeopleCert IASSC Yellow, Green and Black Belt certifications and their re-certification.
The exam is independent of our training. Our Yellow, Green and Black Belt courses give you the knowledge and practice to prepare, and the exam itself is set and assessed by PeopleCert.

Common questions about the PeopleCert IASSC exam
How much is the PeopleCert IASSC exam in Malaysia?
At Six Sigma Malaysia the PeopleCert IASSC exam costs Yellow Belt RM1,294, Green Belt RM1,854 and Black Belt RM2,303 per person. Exam fees are set by PeopleCert and may change.
Is PeopleCert IASSC the same as IASSC?
Yes. PeopleCert acquired the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), and the IASSC Lean Six Sigma exams are now offered by PeopleCert as IASSC Certified Yellow Belt (ICYB), Green Belt (ICGB) and Black Belt (ICBB).
How many questions are in the IASSC exam, and what is the pass mark?
Yellow Belt: 60 questions in 2 hours, Green Belt: 100 questions in 3 hours and Black Belt: 150 questions in 4 hours. Questions are multiple choice and you need a minimum score of 70% to pass.
Is the IASSC exam open book?
No. The PeopleCert IASSC exam is closed book.
What happens if I fail the IASSC exam?
Each exam voucher covers one attempt. To retake the exam, you buy a new voucher.
Does PeopleCert IASSC certification expire?
Yes. It is valid for 3 years. You keep it valid by passing a recertification exam.
Can I take the IASSC exam online?
Yes. You take it online, on demand, and a remote proctor monitors the session through your webcam.
Do I need to attend a course first?
No. There are no prerequisites. Training before the exam is recommended but not required, and our Lean Six Sigma courses prepare you for it.
How is IASSC different from CSSC?
Both certify Yellow, Green and Black Belts. The PeopleCert IASSC exam is closed book and longer (2 to 4 hours), with a 70% pass mark, one attempt per voucher and a certificate valid for 3 years. The CSSC exam is open book, takes 1 to 3 hours, gives you 3 free attempts within 12 months and never expires.
Which IASSC belt exam should I take?
Take the exam for the belt you have trained for. Yellow Belt suits team members and subject matter experts who support improvement projects, Green Belt suits people who lead or take part in improvement projects in their own area, and Black Belt suits people who lead medium to high impact projects.
Is exam coaching included?
When booked with our training, you get a live coaching session (about 2 hours) on sample questions, plus exam access. When booked as a standalone exam, you get sample papers and exam access, with no live coaching.
How soon do I get exam access after payment?
Your exam access details are sent by email within 24 hours of payment.
How long do I have to sit the exam?
You have 1 year from purchase to sit the exam.
When do I get my IASSC results?
Within 2 business days of taking the exam.
Can I book the IASSC exam without your training?
Yes. You can book the exam on its own. A standalone booking includes sample papers and exam access.
Can I claim the exam fee under HRD Corp?
An exam booked on its own is not HRD Corp claimable. When the exam is booked together with our training, it is claimable as part of that training.
Which languages is the IASSC exam available in?
English, French, Japanese and Spanish.
How much does IASSC recertification cost?
Recertification after 3 years costs the same as the exam fee for your belt.
