Six Sigma Certification Exams in Malaysia
Six Sigma Malaysia, the training brand of MBizM Sdn. Bhd., offers Lean Six Sigma certification exams from 3 international bodies: Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC), PeopleCert IASSC and International Lean Six Sigma Institute (ILSSI). Each runs Yellow, Green and Black Belt exams, from RM595. An exam is always optional and separate from our training. Compare the formats below and pick the body that suits you.

Each body runs Yellow, Green and Black Belt exams, and every exam can be taken online. The fee depends on the belt.

Best for a supervised, closed-book exam
Closed book with a 70% pass mark, sat online with a remote proctor. Valid for 3 years, then a recertification exam.

Who the exams are for
The exams suit people who have finished a Lean Six Sigma course, with us or elsewhere, and want a certificate from an international body; practitioners who have studied on their own and want to prove it (the CSSC and PeopleCert IASSC exams do not require a course first); and employers who want staff certified to a recognised standard. An external exam is optional: our courses include their own certification.
Common questions about certification exams
Which Lean Six Sigma certification bodies can I take an exam with in Malaysia?
At Six Sigma Malaysia you can book the CSSC, PeopleCert IASSC and ILSSI exams, each at Yellow, Green and Black Belt. Fees start from RM595.
Is an external certification exam required after your course?
No. An external exam is always optional. Our courses include their own certification, and an external exam is for anyone who also wants a certificate issued by an international body.
Which certification body should I choose?
Choose by exam format and what you need afterwards. CSSC is open book with 3 free attempts and no expiry. PeopleCert IASSC is closed book with a 70% pass mark, a remote proctor and a certificate valid for 3 years. ILSSI is taken online in 11 languages, with 1 free retake and no expiry. If your employer names a body, take that one.
Do I need to train before taking an exam?
Training is recommended but not required for the CSSC and PeopleCert IASSC exams. Our Yellow, Green and Black Belt courses cover the Lean Six Sigma body of knowledge for each belt.
How long is each certificate valid?
A CSSC certificate has no expiry. A PeopleCert IASSC certificate is valid for 3 years, after which a recertification exam is needed. An ILSSI certificate has no expiry.
Can I retake an exam if I do not pass?
CSSC allows 3 attempts within 12 months at no extra cost. PeopleCert IASSC allows one attempt per exam voucher, so a retake needs a new voucher. ILSSI includes 1 free retake.
