Which Lean courses are HRD Corp claimable?
Root Cause Analysis (RCA), QIT / QCC and 7QC Tools, Value Stream Mapping for Manufacturing (VSM) and Lean Auditing are HRD Corp claimable. MBizM Sdn. Bhd. is a registered HRD Corp training provider. Whether your employer can claim depends on its own HRD Corp registration and levy, so check with your HR team before you register.
How does my employer claim the course fee from HRD Corp?
Your employer makes the claim, not the participant. A registered employer applies under the HRD Corp Claimable Courses (SBL-Khas) scheme through its e-TRiS account, attaching the course quotation or invoice, the trainer profile and the course schedule. Employers with outstanding levy are not eligible. Ask us for these documents for the course you choose.
What is the difference between Root Cause Analysis and 8D?
Root Cause Analysis teaches the tools for finding and verifying the real cause of a problem, such as 5W2H, fishbone diagrams and 5 Whys. 8D is a complete, team-based process that uses those tools inside eight steps, including containing the problem for the customer and preventing it from coming back. Many automotive and manufacturing customers ask suppliers for an 8D report.
Should I take a Lean course or a Lean Six Sigma belt?
Take a short Lean course when you need one method now, such as RCA for recurring defects or VSM for flow. Take a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt if you will lead improvement projects using the full DMAIC toolkit. For a Lean certificate from an external body, see the PeopleCert IASSC Lean courses.
