What you will be able to do
Besides knowing the tools and techniques of Six Sigma and being able to run Six Sigma projects, a Master Black Belt is a coach, facilitator, mentor, programme leader and change agent. The programme builds three skills: leadership (achieving through others), project management (plan it, then deliver it) and advanced Lean Six Sigma techniques. The programme was first delivered in-house for global clients and is now open to a wider audience in Asia.

Leadership
3 daysLeadership and management; leadership styles; Lean leadership, behaviours and values; planning and executing change; building a culture that welcomes change; time management; communication and feedback; teamwork and delegation; engaging the team; coaching and facilitation skills.
Project management
1 dayGovernance, roles and responsibilities; project objectives, goals and scope; project charter (resources, KPIs, ROI); multi-generation project planning (MGPP); contingency planning; work breakdown structure and earned value analysis (EVA); Gantt charts; risk management; monitoring progress; managing performance; closing the project.
Technical: advanced Lean Six Sigma
2 daysHoshin Kanri strategy deployment; how to succeed with Lean Six Sigma; A3 DMAIC reports; process and value stream mapping; creative problem solving; gemba, visual boards and meetings; implementing lasting Kaizen; an introduction to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).

Prerequisites: Black Belt certified, with at least 3 years of running improvement projects, and has applied DMAIC on a real improvement project.

How you become a Master Black Belt
There are three stages: (1) meet the prerequisites, (2) complete the Master Black Belt course and pass the class exam, and (3) complete your individual development plan, which continues beyond the classroom. Each candidate is mentored so they can receive their certification once they reach the required standard.
