Lean is a proficiency, originally established from the Toyota Production System, that refers to the application of certain Lean practices, principles, and tools typically used to reduce waste and improve process efficiencies.

Purpose of Lean Practitioner qualification

To confirm candidate is well versed in Lean methodology & able to implement, perform, interpret & apply Lean methodology at an advanced level of proficiency.

This is the First Level of IASSC Lean qualification aimed towards anyone who wishes to become a Lean methodology professional & seeking personal certification.

1st Level	IASSC® Certified Lean Practitioner™ – foundational understanding of Lean and its practical implementation
2nd Level	IASSC® Certified Lean Leader™ – advanced understanding of Lean concepts and tools
3rd Level	IASSC® Certified Lean Expert™ – mastery of all Lean Management tools and their practical applications

IASSC Lean Practitioner certification examination format

Delivery	Computer (Web Proctored / Classroom)
Type	50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) Each question is awarded one (1) mark
Duration	1 hour (60 minutes) For non-native speakers or candidates with a disability, an additional 60 minutes of extra time is allowed.
Pass Mark	70% (35 marks out of 50)
Invigilator /Supervisor /Proctor	Yes Physical or Online Proctoring
Open Book	No Only the provided Reference Document, which contains all formulas and tables that may be needed during the examination, can be used.
